So, although day trips to nearby cities and enjoying the beautiful place that is Madrid is absolutely wonderful and I feel very lucky to do so; I have also been working on other independent photography projects.
As I mentioned a while back in previous blog posts, one of my main interests whilst doing this Erasmus year is having the opportunities to make work that I otherwise would not have time to do at Coventry Uni. Consequently, with a lack of tutor support at UEM, it has also put to the test my independence when planning a shoot or project alone.
As well as having other conceptual projects in the works, before Christmas, myself and Jasmine who I live with here in Madrid, got chatting to our friend Sabrina who is in one of our photography classes at UEM. Sabrina had the idea of doing a collaborative fashion and portraiture project all together – it involved completing an activity that she had seen other YouTube photographer vloggers post about. Jasmine and I were very keen and so went ahead with it. We arranged for the project and shoot day to take place in January; this of course involved us organizing, planning, styling and researching how we wanted to do the shoot and make it into a project. I am very excited to have carried out and completed my first collaborative fashion project! I am also lucky enough to say how every new person I met during the event was delightful to work with and I learnt a lot doing the shoot. It was also a very interesting and creative way of meeting new people.
Here is the link to the project on my website where you can view the full details and concept and all my photos that made the final cut! https://hollyhoultonphotog.wixsite.com/mysite-2/a-collaborative-fashion-project But for now, here’s a sneak preview of a few of my favourites!
