When moving to the city of Coventry in 2016, Houlton wanted to photograph the city’s urban landscape. Coming from an old market town herself, she was inspired by the vast number of man-made structures and their bold patterns. She wanted to capture, in high contrast, the definitive textures, patterns and structures of the city that were new to her.
